Reflection on Reflections
Reflections on Reflections
Raindrops race paths down glass,
each one a fleeting thought,
a moment suspended,
the world outside blurred,
colors bleeding and warping into one another,
a messy watercolor of memories.
Faces pass,
ghosts of strangers,
their stories hidden in downpour,
each reflection a mere whisper,
a shadowy fragment of lives intertwined,
light lost in rhythms of rain.
My own shadow watches me,
a quiet observer,
caught between inside and outside,
the warmth of shelter,
the chill of the storm,
a reminder of beauty in transience.
In this stillness,
I find clarity,
world reduced to droplets,
each one a reminder,
that even in watery gray,
there is depth, there is life.

Love the wise reminder in the end... maybe sitting by the water is something we should do more
ReplyDeleteI like how raindrops inspired this reflection. How sometimes we simply need to stop and observe.

I love how you began with raindrops, Chris, ‘each one a fleeting thought, a moment suspended’, ‘a messy watercolor of memories’, which then lead to faces and ‘ghosts of strangers’. I also love the idea of being ‘caught between inside and outside, the warmth of shelter, the chill of the storm’.
ReplyDeleteChris, I like how you step outside of yourself and observe and it helps you to obtain clarity.
