November of a Life
November of a Life
I’ve had a heart issue, it’s true.
Now I’m freaked about what I do.
Smoking has to go, this I know,
as does the rum that soothes in kind.
Time’s tick sounds loud to aging mind.
Almost last of my clan to go,
so many poems yet left to write;
I won’t go down without a fight.
November of a life - go slow.

Thanks to those fun folks over at DVerse Poets for introducing a new form; a Nove Otto. This poetry form was created by Scott J. Alcorn.
It is a nine-lined poem with 8 syllables per line (isosyllabic).
The rhyme scheme is as follows: aacbbcddc.

I would love to know what you thought about this piece.

I agree, Go Slow on Life but keep your fire and fighting spirit going. Thanks for joining in. Have a good weekend.
