You Must Be More
YOU MUST BE MORE
Into the lock, insert the key
Forego your cares for what might be.
You cannot run, or even walk
away from your own destiny.
Tho' truth may come with pain and shock,
Insert the key into the lock.
You must be more, life is not fair,
it hurts, whether or not you care.
There is only one exit door.
Live in the now, always be there,
give your time to those you adore,
life is not fair, you must be more.

This poem is a "sparrowlet", a form created by poet Katherine Sparrow, following a prompt from our poetic friends over at at DVerse Pub.

ReplyDeleteWise words. We should all strive to do better and be there for those we love.
Nicely rendered (and true to the form).
ReplyDeleteExcellent, Chris!
