Polite Cherry Relish
Polite Cherry Relish
I’ve worked restaurants,
front and back of the house,
so I know the difference
between jam and jelly.
One is sweet from fruit, the other, juice.
But only when you add spice
and the pucker power of vinegar,
can you nibble
with genuine relish.
This culinary quadrille (44 words) was prompted by the tasty folks over at DVerse.

the phrase "pucker power of vinegar" is wonderful ... it adds the distinction and defining element in explaining jam from jelly, a subtle yet delightful compliment and contrast to the nuance of "nibble"
