My Town

MY TOWN

Come, walk these streets, these paths of town –
where history walks hand in hand with tomorrow.
This place where noisy brood of barnyard

has given way to commerce’s gold crown,
where folks leave behind sorrow
to join in pleasures of work, soft or hard.

This Quadrille (44 word poem) was prompted by the fun folks over at DVERSE.

  4. I really like this--the way the past walks with the future in the city. I always think about that when I walk in Philadelphia.
