What's a Hero, Daddy?

What's a Hero, Daddy?

Heroes don’t wear medals on puffed-out chests,
basking in admiration from others,
or themselves.

True heroes rise every day -
punch the clock at a job they hate,
in the name of those they love.

Heroes serve by doing, rather than talking.

This Quadrille (44 word poem) was shared with those who punched in for the poetic job over at DVerse Poets.
